My Lady Aurora,

In the interest of advancing useful knowledge, I write to request access to a resource particular to my homeland: Whitestone, and its refined form known as Residuum.

Whitestone is outwardly unremarkable, yet uniquely receptive to enchantment. Spellwork binds to it with greater stability, and the labor of inscribing such work is completed in markedly less time than with ordinary stone. When subjected to acid and heat, Whitestone yields Residuum, a crystalline medium whose affinity for magic is still more pronounced. It is known to strengthen enchantments, to substitute for rare spell components, and to accelerate the work of magical crafting.

My proposal is to test Residuum in two specific applications:

1. Amplifiers. To construct lattices capable of stabilizing and magnifying spellcraft, allowing existing magic to be channeled more efficiently and with reduced strain on the caster.

2. Reservoirs . To determine whether residuum can reliably retain prepared arcane workings. Its receptiveness suggests potential for storing enchantments until they are required. If demonstrated, this could provide wards or defenses that persist even when their original caster is absent.

The expected outcomes would be of direct benefit to your city: more efficient use of existing spellcasters, stronger magical infrastructure, and the possibility of safeguards that endure beyond the limits of mortal endurance. At the same time, these experiments would serve to demonstrate that Exandria’s resources offer not only novelty but practical contributions of measurable value.

I will ensure the work is conducted openly, the methods documented, and the results available for review. In short, this is not speculation for its own sake but a set of experiments designed to yield clear and useful answers.

With your permission, I stand ready to begin.

Respectfully,

Percival Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski De Rolo III,

Architect of Enlightened Progress of the Chamber of Whitestone.
