I believe being able to see things from a perspective closer to others on Etraya will assist me in completing my duties in a way that others will appreciate more.

Anyways, you should be thinking about stuff you want to do, not just us.

Some fucking newbie wants to take over saving my universe if I disappear, or whatever. Do you know if that's even possible? Someone saving someone else's universe?

You may only represent your own universe.

How come? There are people here from the same universe so they've all got backups of one of them disappears, but I'm the only one from my own. He can't be my contingency plan?

He cannot represent a place he has never seen.

People do that kind of dumb shit all the time.

What if I gave him an official position in my city? An ambassador, or something, so he'd be an official envoy. I've got the legal power to do so as the head of the place, I'd just have to fill out the paperwork.

That's a load of bullshit on Echo's part. There's no way to make the playing field more even for universes with only one representative here?

I don't believe the number of participants should have any bearing on the results.

What do you mean? If two people are from the same universe and one of them disappears, can't the other keep on working towards that goal? A single individual from a universe can't do that, if they're gone then that's it, unless Echo happens to bring someone else from that same universe in.

You're assuming the number of missions completed has importance.

I don't see a reason why it would. It should be the quality of your actions, not the quantity.

[levelshift]

Quality makes sense, but more chances means more opportunity for higher quality results. If someone participates in one mission and is shit, a second mission means they've got a chance to make up for the first.

More chances would also mean more opportunities to perform terribly.

[That's so pessimistic. He'd love to be able to take that stance.]

I can't believe I'm typing this out. I'm not a fucking optimist.

But just because there's a possibility of that happening doesn't mean it still isn't worth having more chances. Even if the odds are overwhelmingly bad, I'd take another opportunity to get better results. I'll do whatever it takes to protect all the kids I'm responsible for back home.

At least, can you make a public announcement if this rule changes? I'd like to know, and that bastard Talis would too. There might be other people who'd be interested.
