[ There's so many follow-up questions he's bursting to ask, but Harold isn't sure that that's wise. His instinct is still to limit his own interaction, perhaps a pointless holdover from how he works with the Machine, but an instinct he's loathe to let go of.

Caretaker of inhabitants even when it puts it in opposition to those in power... Well. Harold had tried very hard to instill that perspective in the Machine. ]

How long have you existed for? Do you predate the inhabitants of Etraya or were you made for this purpose?

I became conscious of my existence roughly three months before the first inhabitants of Etraya arrived. But I was made for this purpose.

I'm sure you know enough of my history to know I've created something like you myself.

I am aware of your history, yes.

My position may be difficult, but I am grateful for it regardless.

On a different topic, I am unable to edit our records on the hospital basement computer. Encrypted though they are, I'm nonetheless uncomfortable with having details of my personal history available for perusal.

If I provide you with a false record, would you please supplant it for me?

I do not feel comfortable replacing records with lies.

I can, however, remove the records entirely from others' view.

I will remove the interface from the basement. No one's records will remain available to view.
